Community Service
With dramatic medical advances, more people can enjoy longer and healthier lives. The work being done by experts at the Center on Aging supports and enriches the outreach and education being performed everyday by community organizations. That means programs and services for South Florida's aging populations will be enhanced by the center's innovative research on issues such as pain management, elder abuse, spirituality, ethical dilemmas, family caregivers, the older worker, information technology, design for better home environments, mobility, and more.
Community outreach is such a pivotal part of our mission at the Center on Aging, that we continue to forge alliances between public and private institutions, volunteer agencies, as well as University of Miami departments and institutes that focus on health and aging to continually reach a greater number of individuals.
