Caring for our UM Caregivers
There are more than 22 million family caregivers in this country and two-thirds of family caregivers work full or part time. The challenges of combining work and caregiving can be stressful and difficult for both the caregiver and employer. The University of Miami Center on Aging and the EAP invites you to a special program on caregiving. It is designed for all University of Miami faculty and staff who are caring for elderly or very ill family members. During this time we will discuss important issues such as “It’s okay to take care of yourself” and “How to react to guilt” as well as discuss resources available at the University of Miami and in the community. We will also talk about some of our exciting research in caregiving.
The event will be held at the BankUnited Center, Hurricane 100 Room on Wednesday, April 23 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided, but reservations are required. Please RSVP to spurcell@med.miami.edu or 305.355.9081 ASAP!
