Comprehensive Evaluation and Diagnostic Services
Our multidisciplinary team of specialists including a geriatric psychiatrist, neurologist, neuropsychologists, social workers, and other clinical staff provide expert evaluation and diagnostic services, as well as support and education for caregivers. The evaluation process involves both patients and family members because dealing with the problem of memory loss is a difficult challenge for all concerned.
The memory disorders evaluation is a comprehensive exam lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours and consists of:
• Psychosocial interview with the family members and/or informant.
• Neurological, psychiatric, and cognitive assessments with the patient.
• Diagnostic testing including blood work, brain imaging, and other individualized procedures.
• Family conferences to discuss diagnosis, treatment plans, and management strategies, and available resources.
